A person sweating is one of the most natural things to happen. But over time, we have found out new ways to mask the smell our body produces. The deodorant is one of the many ways to smell better. It is also the most popular. Men and women of all ages use a deodorant as everybody wants to smell good. It is said that a person who smells better is also high on confidence, as he/she has one less thing to worry about. Natural Deodorants For Body Odour Deodorants kill the odour causing bacterias and provide fresh smell to the body at least for a couple of hours. The deodorant industry is growing wildly the world over and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. So, if it is so popular, what could possibly be the disadvantages of using deodorants? Any product which is scientifically made is bound to contain chemicals. Deodorants are no different! They contain various chemicals which are necessary to destroy the bacteria. But prolonged use of such chemicals can cause various health issues, ranging from allergies to breast cancer. Read on to find out the disadvantages of using deodorants. Skin allergies: Most of the deodorants contain ethanol. As any other alcohol, it is known to cause the skin to dry. Dryness of skin leads to itchiness and may cause rashes. Also, deodorants contain various other chemicals which may cause serious allergic reactions and the body, which senses an intruder, reacts accordingly. It is also known to contain a pesticide called Triclosan. This is one of the disadvantages of using deodorant. Stains and residue: Deodorants are known to leave behind stains on dark clothes. It can be troublesome for people who love wearing black or other dark colours. People who wear white also complain of yellowish stains after the use of deodorants. This isn't really a disadvantage as such as the stain accumulates only over a period of time and can be removed easily. But all things considered, using deodorant is still a disadvantage. Causes Alzheimer's: Most of the deodorants used are known to contain aluminum derivatives. And aluminum salts induce Alzheimer's in people. Though various studies show that the aluminum levels in a deodorant do not really cause Alzheimer's, there are studies that prove otherwise. This is one of the harmful effects of deodorant. Known to cause birth defects: Deodorants contain parabens and phthalates. While parabens are used as preservatives, phthalates are used to induce the long-term effects of its fragrance. But other than that, parabens can cause early puberty in kids. It can lead to birth defects in kids. And phthalates cause cell mutation, which leads to birth defects. Thus, it endangers our coming generations. Leads to breast cancer: Deodorants are mostly sprayed in the underarm region, which is close to the breast tissue. Deodorants comprise estrogenic compounds and they have the same abilities as that of the host body's hormone, estrogen. Estrogen is known to promote the growth of breast tissue. A high growth of breath tissue more than what is required by the body can pave its way to cancerous growth. This is one of the most negative effects of spraying deodorant on your body.
